Uplifting turn of events
After coming to terms with my broken washing line I went up into the field in search of plums, well, actually the trees are dripping this year and I thought I'd better pick some to give away. Anyway I suddenly realised that the prayer flags were letting it all hang out too. Blowing prayers on the wind, it almost made me want to make my own, these have come from Tibet or Nepal or somewhere. These have lost their colour now as they been in situ for quite some time but nonetheless I thought I'd take a photo of them to share. As this is not a blog about plums I've not included the pictures I took of the dripping fruit. Can't seem to upload it... maybe I've done too much writing in this bit. I'll publish this bit then try doing the picture.
Washing Line crisis
Unfortunately due most probably to being under stress, hard work and age my number one line broke in the middle yesterday. I now need to take a trip to our local hardware shop and see wht they have to offer regarding replacement lines. This picture shows the sad state of affairs with a redundant prop lying on the floor between the ends of the line.
Baby's christening gown
I found a really lovely 'at least 58yrs old' christening gown at the local car boot sale on Monday, washed it, the only room left on the line was close to the apple tree. I've chosen the black and white image to show you at it seems more in keeping with the item and makes it look a bit more timeless.
Washing news this week from Peggy Snr
Ok, now I'd better get going otherwise I won't be able to keep up myself regarding all the photos I seem to take. First off a picture of a bad case of tissue in the pocket. It seemed to really do the disintegrating thing in a pair of cotton shorts. Really annoying, I expect we've all experienced it at times.

On a roll
OK, getting the idea of this now I'll put a couple more pictures up for a bit of practice and then if I'm feeling confident hopefully will 'post' some things up regularly, I'm not feeling committed to say exactly how often, you'll have to wait and see. That is if there is anyone out there reading this.. don't forget that you too can send in your washing pictures.. at the moment they'll be going to busy Peggy Junior so there may be a pause before they appear.. maybe I'll work that out too. A step at a time.. anyway I'll choose another picture:
It's suprising the variety of peg bags or baskets that's around. This picture shows a hand made one I came across fairly recently. Think it may be made from a tea towel. Anybody out there made your own peg bag?

It's been a bit of a wait I know
Peggy senior at the helm now trying to get a grip of technology. Have been collating pictures like a wild thing so if I can get to grips with this blogging thing I'll be able to share my finds with the rest of the world. I love the old images that I've discovered if I can find the right attach button I'll try and load one up. Peggy Junior has been brilliant so far, but she's a very busy lady these days and a little pup is keeping her even busier. Will try and attach an image now:
Great, found the right icon button. Lovely image eh? Washing day in the Highlands, a huge challenge to dry the washing in the winter months I would think.
